JANUARY marks the first anniversary of a Hampshire hospitals trust.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was established on January 9 last year to focus on improving service and facilities.

Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester are in the trust. Successes over the year were marked with the annual director of nursing awards and monthly patient-nominated staff awards.

A mobile MRI scanner was also launched, along with a mobile chemotherapy unit.

And last November a campaign was launched to build a new cancer centre.
