THE trust that runs mental and community health services in the Portsmouth area is holding its Annual General Meeting.

Solent NHS Trust, which became a standalone NHS trust in 2011, will be holding the AGM at St James’ Hospital, in Locksway Road, tonight, from 6pm.

The AGM is open to members of the public, who will have an opportunity to put questions directly to a panel of directors from the trust.

Dr Ros Tolcher, chief executive of the trust, said: ‘Solent has built a strong reputation for the quality of its services and we are looking forward to our second AGM where we will share some examples of this.

‘Most people will know that we are working towards becoming a foundation trust and we are now in the final stage of assessment.’

The AGM will be held in the Entertainments Hall from 6pm to 8.30pm. Refreshments will be provided and no booking is required to attend.
