FUNDRAISERS celebrated as they raised enough money to pay for the treatment of a child with flat head syndrome.

Five-month-old George White was diagnosed with brachycephaly shortly after he was born – causing his head to become deformed and grow unevenly.

But his family celebrated on Saturday, when they exceeded their £2,000 target to fund the special corrective helmet he needs, through a fun day.

George’s mum, 24-year-old Bianca Lippiatt, said: ‘George’s dad and I are completely overwhelmed by the kindness of all the people involved in helping us reach the target.’

George’s fun day – held at St Michael’s and All Angels Church in Havant – raised £2,110.55 in total.

Bianca said: ‘As we exceeded our target, we plan to find another child who is also fundraising to cover the cost of the helmet and attend their fundraiser and donate the remaining money to them.

‘The treatment can help a child massively as without the helmet they risk their head shape getting worse.’
