SMOKERS in Portsmouth are being asked to take a ‘leap of faith’ and stub out the habit.
Thousands of smokers are being encouraged to get a head start on national No Smoking Day, which is on Wednesday, March 14.
PompeyQuit is offering help and support to those wanting to ditch cigarettes for all, or part of, No Smoking Day.
Advisers will be on hand with health trainers in the foyer at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, to offer help.
And the service’s health bus will be in Cosham High Street too.
But with it being a leap year, smokers are being encouraged to give themselves a two-week head start, and quit today.
Sian Howells, service manager for PompeyQuit, said: ‘You can see the benefits of not smoking within hours and it’s a boost not just to your health, but your wallet too.
‘Thousands of smokers in Portsmouth successfully quit on No Smoking Day, so why not take the leap?’
