FAMILIES got top tips on living active and long lives at a health and wellbeing event.

Gunwharf Quays put on an array of activities for adults and children alike, with the aim of promoting healthier and more active lifestyles.

Shoppers could take part in pilates, mini tennis demos, rehabilitation exercise sessions and giant Jenga and Connect Four games.

They could also have their blood pressure checked, visit a skin clinic, monitor their heart health and sign up to being a blood donor.

Peter Emery, centre director at Gunwharf Quays, said: ‘It is important to celebrate exercise and healthy eating and to encourage all generations to take an active role in improving their health and fitness.

‘It was great to see how many people gave their time to the event.’

Stores in the shopping outlet also gave expert advice and health and wellbeing giveaways, while restaurants put on healthy eating samples.
