WOMEN are putting off having regular health checks because of their busy lifestyles, according to a recent survey.

A poll carried out by YouGov found that 42 per cent of women in the south region admitted to putting off visiting a doctor because they are too busy.

And 33 per cent of women said they felt pressure from their colleagues when they took time off.

The survey was carried out on behalf of independent healthcare provider Care UK, which runs the Guildhall Walk Healthcare Centre, in Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth.

Service manager Kim Dennis said: ‘Early detection of many female health conditions, such as endometriosis and cervical cancer, is crucial as many start with smaller symptoms which shouldn’t be ignored.

‘It’s an old saying that women put everything else first, but it’s important they don’t put off seeing their GP due to a busy lifestyle.’
