PEOPLE marched through the city centre to show their support for junior doctors.
The march in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, took place on Wednesday evening at the end of the junior doctors’ strike.
Trade unionists as well as teachers, representatives from the National Union of Teachers and public service union Unison took part in the walk.
It comes as disputes over proposed new contracts for junior doctors continue. The latest strike lasted for two days.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has thanked NHS staff for their planning, hard work and clear dedication to their patients following the walk out.
He said: ‘I would like to pay tribute to all of the staff who have once again pulled out all the stops to keep services running effectively during industrial action.’
