UP TO £100,000 is to be made available in grants to help more older people live independent lives at home – and prevent them having to be admitted to hospital.

A new fund, the re-ablement grants programme, is being set up by the Integrated Commissioning Unit (ICU) – a team run jointly by Portsmouth City Council and the Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group.

Potential applicants can request a pack for either grants of up to £10,000 or grants of between £10,000 and £30,000. The deadline is December 31 – call (023) 9268 8938 for more.
