JUNIOR doctors have voted against accepting new contract terms set out by the government.

Fifty-eight per cent of people taking part in the referendum voted against the terms and conditions.

The results will be considered in detail by the junior doctors committee at its next meeting.

As previously reported in The News, junior doctors have been on six strikes over their new contract.

Hundreds of operations at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham have had to be rescheduled this year due to the strike action.

British Medical Association leaders had urged members to accept the terms, which were announced in May after talks with the government resumed following the strikes.
