Mothercare has recalled one of its baby bouncers over fears that a flaw could pose a safety risk to children using it.

Tests on the Babymoov Swoon Up Bouncer have found that there is a risk of the product’s central screw coming loose, making the bouncer’s seat unstable.

The issue can be rectified by carrying out a repair and customers who have bought one of the affected seats are being advised to contact Babymoov’s customer service department by emailing swoonup@babymoov.com or calling 0800 520 0462, to receive details of the repair procedure.

The affected products are zinc and aluminium versions of the Swoon Up Bouncer with any of the following batch numbers:

4814-0462; 4814-0464; 4614-0461; 4814-0462; 3615-1089; 4614-0463; 2515-1087; 3615-1088;

1215-0675; 2115-1086; 1215-0674; 1215-0677; 0315-070A; 1215-0676; 0216-1761

The batch number can be found printed on the top right-hand corner of the care label.
