THE Ministry of Defence has changed the name of its unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

It has changed from the Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit to Defence Medical Group South.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs QA, said the name change is part of broader organisational change within the defence medical services.

Military medical professionals make up around five per cent of the overall workforce at the Cosham hospital, and treat NHS patients to hone their skills before going abroad.
