A SERVICE dedicated to helping people deal with substance misuse has moved premises.

The former Portsmouth Community Substance Misuse Service was based in Kingsway House, Elm Grove, Southsea.

The team, run by Solent NHS Trust, has now moved into Block C at St Mary’s Community Health Campus, in Milton Road, Milton.

It was renamed Portsmouth Substance Misuse Services Milton Road Team when the move was completed last month.

Roger Batterbury, service co-ordinator, said: ‘The move went like clockwork and we are delighted with our new premises.

‘We look forward to welcoming service users into our new building, which focuses the service delivery on recovery.

‘We have ensured our new building has a cafe-style reception area.

‘And once embedded into the building we will have a TV screen to inform of additional support services, groups and activities.’

The services are now all on one level.

The move to Milton means the service is in a more central location than the old Southsea base.
