THE boss of an NHS trust that provides care in Hampshire has been crowned Chief Executive of the Year.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Katrina Percy beat tough competition from across the country to win the title at the Health Service Journal’s ceremony.

Judges said that Katrina was an ‘outstanding leader, with real drive and energy’, and who demonstrated ‘a style of leadership that engenders self-motivation among staff’.

Katrina said: ‘This is an award for all 9,000 of us working at Southern Health.

‘We know leadership directly impacts quality of care, so to be recognised for that is an honour and a privilege, especially in such a strong field.

‘Thank you to the judges and all at Southern Health who made this possible.’

The trust was formed in April 2011, and provides health services in the community.
