PUBLIC information sessions are being held so people can find out more about becoming governors of an NHS trust.

Solent NHS Trust, which provides community and mental health services in the Portsmouth area, is looking for 14 public governors as it seeks foundation trust status.

The governors will be joined by five staff governors and six appointed governors from the trust’s partner organisations.

Company secretary Rachel Cheal said: ‘This is a very exciting opportunity for people to become actively involved with the trust – to help us develop our strategy and share experiences they have had.

‘We are holding a number of briefings over the next couple of months and I’d encourage anyone interested to come along and find out more about it.’

The sessions take place on Monday, July 16, at St James’ Hospital, Milton, from 10am to midday, and Monday, September 2, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

To book a place call 02380 60 8889.
