PORTSMOUTH pharmacies have shown an expert how they make the city healthier.

Professor Richard Parish, chief executive at Royal Society for Public Health, visited three of the city’s Healthy Living Pharmacies, which offer NHS services such as help to stop smoking, lose weight, or cut back drinking. There are already 17 in Portsmouth and it’s hoped the scheme will be expanded across the country.

Prof Parish said: ‘The one thing that has shone through in all the pharmacies I visited in Portsmouth is the sheer enthusiasm of the people.’
