PINK will be the order of the day when women come together to raise money to fight breast cancer.

Gemma Chambers, from Southbourne, has organised a ‘Wear It Pink’ party as she feels passionately about helping women with breast cancer.

She said: ‘My nan had breast cancer.

‘She had both breasts removed and still died.

‘I know quite a few people in the community and friends who have had it and gone through chemotherapy.’

Gemma says she was inspired to get involved after seeing a national TV advert featuring actress Lisa Riley.

She was planning on having a get-together at a pub, but booked the Southbourne Club, which can accommodate 150 people. Tickets are £10. A DJ has been booked.

Gemma has organised a raffle and tickets can be bought on the night.

Friend Kelly Marsh, from Warblington, said: ‘There’s some amazing prizes from local businesses.’

The party takes place from 7pm on Friday, October 23. Call Gemma on 07709 261639.
