Hay fever sufferers were warned today of a soaring pollen count.

Met Office forecasters said the pollen forecast was ‘very high’ for most of England including the south.

Experts said that the Portsmouth area would have a dry day, and although rather cloudy in places at first some good sunny spells would develop during the morning.

A Met office spokesman added: ‘It will feel warm in the light winds inland, but cooler near coasts with onshore breezes developing.’
