A GP practice has been rated as ‘good’ following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission.

John Pounds Surgery, on Aylward Street in Portsmouth, was commended for being able to offer urgent appointments the same day, having a transparent approach to safety and treating patients with compassion.

Of the five criteria looked at, it was given ‘good’ for all of them.

The report said: ‘The practice had good facilities and was well-equipped to treat patients and meet their needs. The practice proactively sought feedback from staff and patients, which it acted on.’
