A PORTSMOUTH MP has signed a charter which aims to raise awareness of motor neurone disease.

Mike Hancock, MP for Portsmouth South, has signed the Motor Neurone Disease Association’s five-point charter that sets out what good care looks like for people with the illness and their carers.

Mr Hancock said: ‘I am delighted to sign up to this charter.

‘I have seen the difference good services make to the lives of the people with motor neurone disease and believe everyone with this devastating disease should be supported to maximise their quality of life and die with dignity.’
