VITAL equipment for a surgery has been provided thanks to the fundraising efforts of a patient.

The Portsdown Group Practice, which has four surgeries in the Portsmouth area, has been given three portable ECG monitors to check the heart.

Patient Patricia Brain raised the money in memory of her husband Maurice, who died last year.

She wanted to thank the practice for the care he received and donated money to the Friends of Portsdown Group Practice.

Dr Karen Kyd, a specialist cardiac doctor for the practice, said: ‘These monitors will be useful in identifying potential cardiac problems more easily and quickly.’
