A COUNCILLOR has praised the work of council officers after two cases of public safety were brought to court.

As reported, Scott Lemon was taken to court by Fareham Borough Council for building work regulation breaches at his former Sarisbury Green home and was made to pay £10,152.

The Cormorant pub, in Portchester, was also taken to court by the council and had to pay nearly £14,000 for a series of food regulation breaches.

Cllr Trevor Cartwright said: ‘These cases highlight the important work undertaken by our officers and reinforces that action can and will be taken to ensure our residents are not the victims of safety breaches.’
