PUBLIC events to help people make the right choices on which health service to visit this winter are being held.

Portsmouth and Hampshire primary care trusts will be working together to attend pre-Christmas events in towns and cities.

Their Choose Well campaign is aimed at raising awareness of the range of NHS services available for unexpected illness and injuries.

The events take place on the following days and places between 10am to 4pm:

· Thursday, November 17, Cascades Shopping Centre, Portsmouth.

· Sunday, November 20, West Street, Fareham.

· Thursday, November 24, Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth.

Portsmouth’s director of public health Dr Paul Edmondson-Jones said: ‘The Choose Well message brings together information people need to prepare them to make the right choice between NHS services when they need healthcare.

‘It tells people about the range of services in the area, such as minor injuries unit or walk-in centres, when they are open and the expertise of the staff.’
