STAFF are gearing up for their pub’s biggest ever fundraising weekend.

Landlady Kath Ashborn has thrown herself behind the Jack’s Future campaign to raise money for sensory play equipment for 17-month old Jack Bolton.

The youngster from Leigh Park was born with a genetic condition which has left him blind and with development problems.

From 10am tomorrow until 10pm on Monday The Heron, in Petersfield Road, Havant, will be packed full of activities for adults and children with live music.

She said: ‘Jack’s cause is one very close to our hearts.

‘He is such a lovely lad and every child should have toys to play with.

‘We are having a three-day family fun fundraiser at the pub. There is so much going on for children and adults – from face painting and colouring-in to a raffle.

‘On Sunday evening we also have the band Knee Slider performing. The whole team is excited about getting stuck in and raising as much as possible for Jack.’

The pub is still welcoming prize donations for the raffle.
