A HOSPITAL is set to welcome in the public for an open day as it gears up to become a smoke-free site.
Residents will get a chance to enjoy tours of Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, on Saturday, October 13.
Dubbed ‘We Share Clean Air’, the open day is themed around Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust’s objective to operate a smoke-free site by January, 2019.
As part of the fixture, which will run from 10.30am until 3pm, visitors will get a chance to look around the hospital’s departments, meet its staff, view exhibitions and learn more about QA Hospital and NHS careers.
While the day is free to attend, the trust says revellers’ donations to the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity would be ‘greatly appreciated’.
On the day, visitors arriving at the hospital by car can take advantage of free parking in the Sevenoaks Road Car Park on a first come, first served basis.
Anyone wishing to go on a tour of the site must make a booking on the day, at the meeting point in the Education Centre Café on the E level of QA Hospital’s main building.
Tickets are limited and for morning tours will be available from 10.30am – with afternoon tickets on offer from midday. Age restrictions may apply.
