TIPS on how to cut your carbon footprint will be given at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

The first NHS Sustainability Day is being held tomorrow in the atrium of the Cosham hospital from 9am to 5pm. Tips and facts on ways to save energy and manage waste both at home and in the workplace will be given.

There will also be a chance to view electric cars, vans and bicycles.

The trust which runs QA has reduced its carbon footprint by 5.4 per cent since 2008. Glen Hewlett, director of development and estates, said: ‘All the small things add up and can be applied to both home or work situations, like closing windows at the end of the day and turning off unused computers or electrical items.’
