WANT to take a look at some of the medical marvels that Queen Alexandra Hospital has to offer?
The Cosham hospital is once again hosting an open day so visitors can get an up-close and personal look at the site and see what work goes on.
There will be tours of different departments, including the private patient unit, radiotherapy, the Wessex Kidney Centre and the simulation suite.
Peter Mellor, director of corporate affairs for Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Queen Alexandra Hospital, is hoping hundreds of people come along this year.
He said: ‘We’re immensely proud of Queen Alexandra Hospital and the services that we have to offer.
‘Our open days always attract large numbers of people and we’re hoping that this year will be no different.
‘It’s a brilliant opportunity to have access to the hospital and see the different services, technologies and treatments that are available right here on your doorstep.
‘Do come and join us – I’m sure you’ll be fascinated by what you see.’
The open day takes place on Saturday, October 3, from 10.30am to 3pm.
Tours need to be booked and a list of times will soon be available, however tours can only be booked on the day.
People need to go to the oncology waiting area on level B at 10.30am.
Tours will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
