THE main entrance to Southampton General Hospital will close for redevelopment for about 25 weeks from next Monday.

Patients and visitors will be directed to seven alternative entrances and exits around the site for the duration.

All additional entrances will be signposted and a temporary reception and Costa coffee shop will be installed on the green outside the current main entrance.

A car parking attendant will direct people from the main car park and additional volunteers will be available to provide support to those who need to find their way around.

A map showing the alternative entrances, details of the nearest car parks, drop-off points and taxis, is available on University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust’s (UHS) website uhs.nhs.uk.

Many of the existing retailers have now moved or closed.

However, UHS Pharmacy, WHSmith and the Stockshop will remain open throughout.
