Thousands of GP patients have to wait more than 15 minutes after their appointment times to see their doctor.

Figures from the latest GP Patient Survey - which is sent out to about 1.36 million adults nationally each year - show 41 per cent of patients in Portsmouth are left waiting more than a quarter of an hour for their doctor.

Patients are asked twice a year how long they have to wait for their appointment.

Last month we revealed that waiting times for Portsmouth were above the national average of 35 per cent.
