Fundraiser to raise sepsis awareness

PEOPLE will get the chance to take a look around a hospice ahead of an awareness week.

The Rowans Hospice is holding its annual open morning on Saturday from 10am to 1pm.

Staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the morning to discuss hospice care, the services provided, volunteering and employment opportunities and how the hospice is funded.

Hospice chief executive Ruth White said: ‘Come along and be prepared to be surprised as hospice care is much more than what is offered within a building, it is an approach which reaches far out beyond its walls.

‘It is about people and communities – from the people who support and work in partnership with their local hospices, to the patients, friends and families who rely on them.’

Hospice Care Week takes place from October 8 to 14.
