THE Mission for Sam is well under way after a boost from a rugby team.

The Gosport and Fareham under-14s youth rugby section, coached by Sam John’s parents Steve and Vicki, raised £2,850 last weekend.

On Sunday fundraising started at a pre-match lunch, with a variety of generous donations smashing the £1,000 target.

Club president Paul Cass said: ‘On behalf of Gosport and Fareham RFC and Sam and his family, I would like to thank all those who visited the club and contributed towards an outstanding fundraising weekend.’
