A RATING scheme has been introduced to inform the public about the standards of hygiene in restaurants, takeaways and pubs and shops selling food.
The scheme, which has just been launched in the Havant borough, is a joint effort by Havant Borough Council and the Food Standards Agency.
The scoring system provides information on food hygiene standards, helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food. The scores are on a scale ranging from zero at the bottom to a top rating of five.
Businesses will be given a certificate and a sticker and be encouraged to display them at the entrance to their premises.
