A SERVICE to commemorate World Aids Day will be held tonight at John Pounds Memorial Unitarian Church in Old Portsmouth.

The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Councillor Steven Wylie, will attend the service, which starts at 8pm, and he will light a World Aids day candle. The day aims to raise awareness of Aids and the HIV virus, and to honour and remember those who have been lost to the illness.
