A WOMAN whose sister donated a kidney to a complete stranger is to join her on a charity bike ride from London to Paris.

Wendy Powell, who works for the University of Portsmouth, is to cycle alongside her sister Jenny Dale in the 310-mile bike ride to raise money for Transplant Links – a charity which sends UK medics to hospitals in developing countries to teach surgeons to perform living kidney transplants.

Mrs Powell, 45, said: ‘Jenny’s determination has so inspired me that I decided to join her. We’ve never done anything like this before so it is going to be a huge challenge for us both.’

Mrs Powell and Mrs Dale, 46, from Bournemouth, will take part in the cycle challenge in September. To sponsor them visit
