MEN, women and children in Portsmouth will get the chance to take part in a march against cancer.

The city is one of 15 nationally to be chosen to take part in Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer event.

On Saturday, October 11, a march starting and finishing in Castle Field, Southsea, will take place from 7.30pm – along with the other 14 cities at the same time.

Walkers will march for 45 minutes, taking in the D-Day Museum and Spinnaker Tower.

Helen Johnstone, Cancer Research UK’s spokesman for the south east, said: ‘We’re so excited to be holding our first March On Cancer in Portsmouth.

‘I hope everyone will start their fundraising ahead of the march and continue after.’
