Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth will turn purple to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.

The landmark will change colour on Saturday to help Pancreatic Cancer Action generate discussion and awareness of the condition and its symptoms.

Every year, almost 9,000 men and women will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and, due to late diagnosis, they will be faced with only a three per cent chance of survival and an average life expectancy of three to six months the charity said.
