A TEAM of nurses, doctors, and clinicians are gearing up to take part in a fundraising cycle challenge.

Cyclists from Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust – which provides community health services in the Portsmouth areas – will be pedalling to raise money for the patients they care for at The Rowans Hospice.

The team is taking part in The Ruby Ride, which takes place on September 15.

Dr Martyn Diaper, clinical director for the south east Hampshire integrated service division, said: ‘We work closely with the hospice to ensure our patients are able to access the care they need, either in their own homes, or as close to their own homes as possible.

‘It’s great our staff feel so passionately about the work they do and are supporting them by doing the ride.’

There are three courses people can sign up to, depending on your cycling level.
