IF YOU would like to get fit or socialise more, a volunteer group is encouraging people to take part in health walks in Fareham and Gosport.

The walks, organised by the Fareham Walking for Health and Solent Healthy Walks team at Community Action Fareham, are a great way of meeting new people and getting fit.

They offer free walks from 30 to 90 minutes, with a trained walking leader.

Jennie Romicheva, from Community Action Fareham, said: ‘It started in 2011, as we recognised the importance to people who want to get out and about. It makes people feel better about themselves and is lots of fun.’

Walks take place every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday throughout August, plus Saturday, August 8 and August 15. They start at 10.30am.

For more information go to farehamw4h.org.uk, where there is a list of walking schedules and meeting points. Or call 01329 231899.
