CANDLES will float across a lake to remember lost loved ones.

The annual Light Up A Life service is organised by The Rowans Hospice and takes place tomorrow at Canoe Lake, Southsea.

Readings will be led by the hospice’s chaplain Carol Gulley.

The service is held around Christmas time to remember loved ones who have died. Those who have not used the hospice’s services are still welcome to attend the memorial.

Morna Clarke-Hughes, fundraising manager at the hospice, said: ‘It’s not too late to complete a dedication form in memory of someone special.

‘In return you will be sent a Light up a Life card for you to display at home. You will also be invited to light your candle during the service to place on a raft which will be floated out on Canoe Lake.

‘Alternatively you are welcome to come along on Friday and give a donation to The Rowans Hospice in return for a candle.’

The service takes place from 5pm to 7pm, and will include carols.
