A CAMPAIGN group has been set up to look at ways to increase the use of a community hospital.
Fareham MP Suella Fernandes has launched the group to discuss Fareham Community Hospital with people from the Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group, patient groups, health trusts and the Friends of Fareham Community Hospital.
At its first meeting the group discussed GP services, the role of the voluntary sector, and how to increase community bed capacity to ease patient flow at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Miss Fernandes said: ‘Improving health services has been one of my main priorities since I was elected, and it matters greatly to many people.
‘It’s a very complex subject, with lots of organisations having overlapping responsibilities, so I wanted to cut through the bureaucracy and get all the relevant people together in one room for this summit.’
The group will meet at least every three months, or on an ad hoc basis if an issue arises.
