A LUCKY hospice volunteer scooped hundreds of pounds in a lottery win.
The Rowans Hospice Lottery recently celebrated its third anniversary and the top prize of £750 went to volunteer Adele Mallows.
Mrs Mallows, from Waterlooville, is one of the team of gardeners at the hospice who helps maintain the grounds. She said: ‘I have been a member of the lottery since it started and although I have had a couple of £10 wins, I never expected the big prize. I’m absolutely thrilled.’
The hospice lottery is £1 to enter and is drawn on a Friday The winning numbers are put on the Rowans’ website that day. There are 13 prizes – £750, £100, £50, and 10 runner-up prizes of £10.
Ann Cooper, head of fundraising and marketing at the hospice, said: ‘Joining the lottery is another great way to support the vital work of the hospice.’
