HEALTH checks for taxi drivers have proven to be a hit.

Hackney carriage drivers aged between 40 and 74 were invited to have NHS health checks at the Wellbeing Hub in Westgate Leisure Centre, Chichester.

Kevin Harrington, a local driver, said: ‘The opportunity to pop in for a free check-up was brilliant because not a lot of people want to go to hospital. You never know when something is wrong with you. Like a car, we also need a regular MOT.’

The checks included checking blood pressure and cholesterol.

NHS health checks are available for anyone aged 40 to 74. For more information call 01243 521041.
