PEOPLE can still donate items to a Chichester hospital and help the aid effort for the Philippines.

More than 300 Filipinos work for Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs St Richard’s Hospital and two others.

Donors gave almost £2,000 towards a collection in Chichester city centre over the weekend, and there has been a huge volume of items such as food and blankets taken to St Richard’s.

Dennis Arguna, who works at St Richard’s Hospital, said: ‘I’m truly humbled by the response we’ve had.

‘Words are just not enough to describe how I feel right now – I’m totally speechless.

‘We didn’t expect to receive such great response at such short notice.

‘I know that we all just want to thank everyone for blessing us with their kindness.

‘We have had so many people asking if they can still bring in some goods this week, and they can.

Anyone wanting to help can donate non-perishable food, clothes, blankets and towels.
