AFTER taking a prize at last year’s ceremony and seeing the positive stories highlighted, this care company is now a sponsor for the Best of Health Care Awards 2015.
Sisterly Care is a small family-run business that started in 2007.
It cares for those who need help and support within their own homes, from personal care to domestic visits being catered for.
Individuals are then able to remain in their homes longer and keep as independent as possible.
The team cover a large area including Portsmouth, Havant and West Sussex.
Manager Julie Ronson said: ‘We got involved with the health awards last year when we got nominated by our staff.
‘We felt this was a great honour and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening where we were able to celebrate all the wonderful work that goes on within the health profession.
‘This year we wanted to get more involved and so we became one of the sponsors for this event.
‘In this day and age the health industry is in the media for all the wrong reasons – so how great it is to hear of all the good that goes on, too.
‘From small acts of kindness, explaining and answering concerns and issues with people who are at their most vulnerable state, to big gestures of bravery.
‘All nominees deserve the recognition they get and we don’t think they get this often enough.
‘With all the new changes within health this year it is very easy to lose sight of the reasons why we work in this industry.
‘We hope we keep the main reasons in perspective and this is one way we can do just that.’
The firm is sponsoring the Care/Nursing Home on the Year category.
People can nominate in any of our categories until July 3.
The awards ceremony takes place at the Guildhall, Portsmouth, on October 9.
