PEOPLE in Gosport are being invited to attend the mayor’s tea party to raise money for charity.
Councillor John Beavis will host the tea party on Tuesday, September 17 at the town hall.
Guest speaker for the event is Pam Marsden, JP, who will talk about her life as a magistrate in the town, from the days when Gosport had its own magistrates’ court.
Cllr Beavis said: ‘I am delighted Pam has agreed to come along and chat to us all about her time as a magistrate which I am sure will be both interesting and informative.
‘My wife Christine and I are certainly looking forward to her talk and also to meeting everyone who attends.
‘Visitors will also have the opportunity to look around the parlour and see the wonderful gifts presented to the council over the years.
‘It promises to be an extremely enjoyable afternoon that will also raise money for three very worthy charities.’
Entry will be through the civic doors in Lawrence Square and the doors will open at 2pm. Tickets cost £3. Call (023) 9254 5202.
