COMMUNITY garden the Southsea Greenhouse has put out a call for volunteers to improve its grounds.

Sue Stokes, one of the founders of the greenhouse, said people were needed to help put up trellising along the length of the garden and build a pergola.

Ms Stokes said anyone, including groups of employees, were welcome to volunteer.

She said the garden’s co-operative was also looking for a business partner.

Ms Stokes said: ‘If you could spare a couple of your team for a few hours or a day, it would be fantastic and we would get the job done much more quickly.

‘We are also looking for a business champion to help us develop the co-op and to make over wasteland and extend green space across the city.’
