Here's how to get a Christmas job at M&S in Havant
A RETAIL giant has announced it has 20 Christmas jobs up for grabs.
With 57 days until Christmas, applications are open as Marks and Spencer looks to take on seasonal employees at its Solent Retail Park store in Havant.
Dubbed '˜moment makers', the recruits will '˜make every moment special for customers over the festive period' and will work across the store in its clothing, home and food, beauty and deli departments, as well as its café.Â
The vacancies have opened up as the company looks to take on 20,000 people nationwide as customers face their '˜busiest and happiest time of year'.
Gordon Scott, Marks and Spencer's head of region for home counties south, said: '˜Making every moment special for our customers in Havant is our mission and it's never more important than at Christmastime.
'˜Every year we value the additional colleagues who help us deliver even better service for the local community.
'˜While retail experience is helpful, what we're really after are colleagues who are ready to roll their sleeves up and be part of a hard-working team '“ moment makers for our customers.'
All new employees at the store will be given induction training and will benefit from '˜competitive' pay rates and a 20 per cent discount on M&S products from their first day.Â
M&S said the seasonal employment could even lead to a permanent role, after nearly 2,000 temporary staff taken on for Christmas last year were offered a job in January '“ with some progressing on to management positions.Â
Sacha Berendji, retail, operations and property director at Marks & Spencer said: '˜Customers come to us at Christmas for trusted quality and extra special service '“ whether they're collecting the turkey they ordered online, purchasing Christmas Eve PJs for the kids or buying a new dress for the office party.
'˜We want to offer these customers the very best experience '“ that's why we're recruiting 20,000 new team members.'
