PEOPLE are being invited to help clear rubbish from the water.
A big clean-up is due to take place at Hilsea lake on July 26.
Jessica Hunt, organiser of the clean-up, said the aim is to gather the community together in order to get the water free from rubbish.
The 24-year-old said: ‘A big job like this can be completed in a short space of time if enough people come together. I’m proud to say the people of Portsmouth want to see change and are happy to spend time making a difference.’
It will be from 11am-3pm, and anyone is welcome to come and help.
Anyone attending should bring spare clothes and have safe footwear and a net.
The rubbish will be gathered and taken to the tips.
