Not long afterwards, and 123 years after the Battle of Trafalgar, crowds of people – estimated to be in their thousands in the first week – crowded aboard Nelson’s flagship and, of course, she has been held in the highest esteem ever since.
At the moment she is going through another makeover, but no doubt she will have hordes of visitors treading her hallowed decks again.
