FIREFIGHTERS were called to a smoke-filled flat after food was left on the stove.

A crew from Southsea fire station were called to Princes Place in Buckland at 11.32am on Saturday.

A neighbour called the emergency services after noticing smoke. The occupant had gone out and left the hob on. Firefighters broke in and turned the hob off. They also cleared the smoke.
