A major provider of home care is coming to Portsmouth.
Bluebird Care is expanding its operation with a brand- new office in Portsmouth, a move which it says will create over 50 jobs for the area.
The firm offers tailor-made home visits and 24-hour live-in care for the disabled, frail and vulnerable.
The Bluebird Care Group is a network of over 200 offices but locally it is owned by Bluebird director, Natalie Tyler.
Natalie said: ‘We are passionate about providing quality care to people in Portsmouth.
‘The aim of our service is to keep older and vulnerable people in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, rather than the often disruptive alternative of residential care.’
The business will kick-start the new year with a series of recruitment drives within the city.
Natalie said: ‘We are focused upon building our team of care professionals that will be championing our service.’
Four recruitment events are currently planned for:
Monday, January 11 – Drayton Community Centre 1pm-4pm;
Tuesday, January 12 – Paulsgrove Community Centre 2pm-5pm;
Thursday, January 14 – Cosham Community Centre 1pm-5pm;
Wednesday, January 27 – The Job Fair, Portsmouth Guildhall 10am-2pm.
The events are drop-in and are open to experienced care workers as well as those looking for a career change.
They will provide the opportunity for potential candidates to explore the job opportunities available and learn more about Bluebird Care.
Natalie added: ‘Careers in care are tough but highly rewarding.
We care about our staff and ensure that full training and support form the backbone of our service.
‘We very much look forward to meeting and developing our new team.’
